  “I took in four pairs of pants for alteration. I was asked, Do you want to wait for them? Since my wife was waiting in the car, I declined. When I returned three hours later, they were ready. Service like this is practically extinct today.”

  “Andy's is really the only option you have if you want something done and in a hurry in banor/Brewer. They have done great by me. It is sometimes untidy, but it's a tailor shop there is bound to be string and pieces of clothing all over. One or 2 of the guys are a little like Norman Bates at times, but are professional.”

  “I'm a Bangor native, and Andy The Tailor has been there for years. The shop is the first place anyone thinks of when they need work done. However, I had a terrible experience having my rank and nametapes sewn on a military uniform. The two rank insignia on the collar were misaligned (and they weren't even aligned the same way as each other), and the stitches on the nametapes weren't straight--they bowed inward from the edges. The tapes themselves somehow went from being straight edged to uneven. It was incredibly sloppy work. My uniform looked like the tailor didn't take any care at all, and I will not be back.”

  “I am a military member stationed here in the Bangor area. Andy has helped me in a pinch a couple of times. Only good experiences; quick turnaround and good work. As the previous review said, the shop is full of articles, probably a testament to the amount of business Andy gets. Thanks for the good work and for supporting us, Andy.”

  “These guys turn your job around really fast, in a business day or so. The prices are ridiculously cheap -- sometimes you walk out of there wondering if you just ripped them off. The shop isn't dirty -- it is cluttered with bits of clothing and tailoring equipment. Many local military personnel trust their uniforms to Andy the Tailor. I trust my clothes there as well. For a good job, super fast turnaround, and low prices, I can overlook a cluttered shop. To top it off, you're supporting local business.”

  “I took my wedding gown there to have a simple bussell added (the hook on the butt to lift the train up after the ceremony) and needed the halter taken in about an inch and a half. The place was disgusting there, very dirty. When I got my dress back he laid my dress in a mess of water on his counter! Then his idea of a bussell was two long strings to tie together. The piece that should have been right on the butt, was in the middle of my rib cage! So when I tied the two strings together the dress was lifted so high my legs were showing! Then when the train was out on the dress you could see a three inch string hanging out. Then the halter I needed taken in by only an inch and a half was shortened by probably six inches. It didn't even go around my neck. All of this 4 days before my wedding! I ended up having to pay a crap load of money for someone to fix his mistakes.”
